MARMADUKE PICKTHALL

High IQ Polymath Quranic Scholar

Short Description

Michael H. Hart, a highly esteemed American Jewish lawyer, astrophysicist, historian and the author of the famous best seller, The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History which he printed in 1978 and reprinted in 1992, placed Mohammad (SAW) on #1 position without argument in both the editions, describing him as "supremely successful in both the religious and secular realms”. In 1985, another very thoroughly researched and heavily referenced book by Martin Lings, Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources (the official and recommended text book for this program) had created a stir in the Muslim communities around the world due to several unknown facts about the prophet and of which there was no earlier familiarity. This called for an opportunity for us to introduce MohammadSAW to all our students, not just as they know him, but the real man who continues to create a stir and impact even 1500 years after his death.
