Carl Sagan
High IQ Polymath Astrophysics Scholar
Short Description
Starting his career as an associate professor at Harvard and followed by Cornell from 1976 till his death in 1996, Sagan became a household name with his award winning 1980 television series, The Cosmos: A personal Voyage, making it the most widely watched public television series in American History boasting over 500 million viewership in 60 countries. It is that romance with him from the 80s that our degree program in and astrophysics, cosmology and astronomy bear his name. Sagan, as one the most celebrated American planetary scientists was a strong proponent of extraterrestrial life and assembled the first message into space known as Pioneer Plaque and Voyager Golden Record which have the in-built capacity of being understood by any extraterrestrial intelligence who might find them. This is a program which takes students to interstellar journeys, hopping between intergalactic points to burn the satiety of mono and multi-galactic life forms, studded with an immersive research potential in space and its stunning expanses.
